Route 66 Vlog Part 6. We are driving through Oklahoma from Tulsa to Elk City. We only had one night in Tulsa but we would definitely recommend more. Tulsa is the home to some excellent examples of art-deco architecture which includes the impressive Boston Avenue United Methodist Church only 5 minutes drive from downtown Tulsa. During our drive along Route 66 we stop at the ‘Heart of Route 66’ Auto Museum, The Rock Cafe, The Round Barn and have lunch at POPS where Mel tries a Chicken Fried Steak (no chicken involved!) We also stopped in Chandler Oklahoma and meet Jerry McClanahan the author of the EZ66 GUIDE For Travellers in his studio where he shows his Route 66 artwork. We finally get to Elk City which is close to the Texas border. Next time on Route 66 we take cross Texas and enter New Mexico.
