Welcome to our Sal Island Travel Vlog! 🇨🇻 Join us for our epic week in beautiful Cape Verde. If you're looking for a unique winter sun holiday destination, this video shows you why Sal is so special! Cape Verde might not be the first place that comes to mind for a sun holiday, but that's part of its charm. We travelled to Santa Maria in Sal, Cape Verde for some winter sun and we absolutely loved it! Cape Verde is in Africa but was a colony of Portugal until 1975. We flew to Sal from Lisbon. There are so many great things to do in Sal! We spent a lot of time relaxing on the beautiful Santa Maria Beach and exploring Santa Maria town, the main tourist hub on Sal Island where lots of new hotels and resorts are being built. But we also decided to venture beyond Santa Maria to see more of Sal's unique attractions. We went to Shark Bay to swim with lemon sharks which was a really great experience! We visited the Pedra Lume Salt Crater and saw the old abandoned salt mines. We visited the lovely Viviero Botanical Gardens & Zoo di Terra and took an amazing catamaran tour around Sal which was a great way to see the island from the water. Adventure sports like kitesurfing and kiteboarding are really popular on Sal Island, especially on Kite Beach near Shark Bay. We loved our visit to Santa Maria and Sal, Cape Verde.
