Santorini Port Cable Car to Thera (Fira)

The Santorini cable car connects the port with the town of Thera (Fira) in Santorini island in Greece. The cable car, technically a pulsed Gondola lift, enables visitors arriving by ship to ascent the cliffs easily and quickly. Each car carries four passengers and takes just 3 minutes to ascend or descend the cliff side. It costs just €6 each way, but trust us, you do not want to walk from the port! As we took the fast boat from the port in Santorini to the beautiful town of Oia, our video is taken on the descent. Our visit to Santorini was part of a Greek Island cruise with NCL. PLEASE DO NOT use the Donkeys. We had no intention of taking a donkey ride anyway but the ship also requests not to use them either. This is due to the poor way they are treated and the treacherous pathway. The Donkeys have been known to collapse and injuring the tourist, in some cases breaking limbs.
