I talked to Sarah before and after a July 8–16 land-and-sea trip: a Disney Destiny cruise from Fort Lauderdale (with Nassau, Castaway Cay, and sea days) followed by a Beach Club stay at Walt Disney World. Sarah’s family of five flew ATL–MCO, took Brightline to Fort Lauderdale, stayed at the Hilton Marina, and used DCL transportation for early boarding. On the ship they prioritized Festival of Foods, AquaMouse, character meets (including Royal Gathering, Cruella, Dr. Facilier), trivia wins, Haunted Mansion Parlor, and the Hercules show. They skipped some ports/excursions, found Marvel dining poor, enjoyed 1923 and Palo Prima Notte, and noted tight quarters and upselling at Hook’s Barbary/Senses Spa. After the cruise they dealt with an initial poor/accessible Beach Club room and logistics issues (Amazon delivery, Blizzard Beach lightning closure, transportation), then did split one-on-one park time (Hollywood Studios with Lightning Lanes; Epcot rope drop; Magic Kingdom extended evening hours and Tiana’s during fireworks), plus Beaches & Cream and Disney Springs, before a delayed flight home.
