When we left Guayaquil, we brought limited cash, cautious of crime, thinking credit cards would be enough. 🌎💳 But upon arriving on Isabela Island—a predominantly cash-only paradise—we faced a stressful challenge. With just $40 between us, no debit cards, and no PINs for our credit cards, we began a wild hunt for cash. 🏝️💰 Thanks to a kind local shopkeeper, we secured cash, booked a snorkeling tour, and reserved our ferry back to Santa Cruz. 🐢✨ What started as chaos turned into one of the best experiences of our Galapagos adventure. Snorkeling brought us face-to-face with sea turtles 🐢, iguanas 🦎, sea lions 🦭, eagle rays 🐟, seahorses 🐴, sharks 🦈, and even a penguin 🐧! To top it off, Lanette had a crab 🦀 surprise her in the most unexpected way during our boat ride. Isabela Island stole our hearts with its dirt roads, laid-back vibes, beach bars 🌅, and stunning wildlife.
