Here are some reasons why you should consider visiting Siem Reap: Angkor Wat: Angkor Wat is one of the most famous and largest religious monuments in the world. It was built in the early 12th century and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its stunning architecture and intricate carvings are a must-see. Other Temples: Siem Reap is home to more than just Angkor Wat. There are over 1,000 temples in the area, each with their own unique architecture and history. We had so much getting soaked and interacting with the local Cambodian people. It was a party we will always remember. There are also traditional dance performances and cultural shows to enjoy. Beautiful Landscapes: Siem Reap is surrounded by beautiful landscapes, including rice paddies, jungles, and rivers. You can take a boat ride on the Tonle Sap Lake, visit a floating village, or explore the countryside by bike. Friendly People: Cambodian people are known for their warm hospitality and friendly nature. You will likely be greeted with a smile wherever you go in Siem Reap. We made a life long friend with our cab driver, who showed us the beauty of the area for our entire trip.
