The Southampton Maritime Festival held on Friday 22nd-Saturday 23rd August 2014. Attractions included vintage buses & trucks, SS "Shieldhall", "Tenacious", ST "Challenge" and Traction-Engine "Volunteer" along with a flypast by a Spitfire & Hurricane. Cruise ships in Southampton Docks were P&O Cruises' "Aurora", Royal Caribbean International's "Independence of the Seas" & Semester at Sea's MV "Explorer". The first part of this video shows the attractions at the festival plus the flypast from the deck of "Shieldhall". The second part of the video (viewed from the Town Quay) shows shipping movements at the end of the festival plus the cruise ship movements starting off with "Shieldhall" departing at 16:00 on a cruise down Southampton Water. The first cruise ship to get underway was "Aurora" departing from the 'Mayflower' Terminal around 16:45 followed by "Independence of the Seas" from the 'City' Terminal around 17:00. Once both ships had passed the Dock-Head, MV "Explorer" was moved from the 'QEII' Terminal to where "Independence of the Seas" had been docked at the 'City' Terminal. Her next voyage will commence on Sunday 24th. Lastly, the HMS "Medusa" and the Jubilee Sailing Trust's "Tenacious" departed and passed "Shieldhall" returning back from the cruise just before 18:00.
