Join me on an epic travel day from Playa Del Carmen, Mexico to boarding a cruise ship in Tivat, Montenegro! I kick off with a scenic drive to Cancun airport, snag an overpriced Coke, and hop on a 12-hour flight to Istanbul—complete with leaky wet wipes dripping on my head (thanks, overhead bin!), dodgy airplane fish, ninja snack runs, and cozy naps under my Toronto Maple Leafs blanket. Epic window views included! Touch down in massive Istanbul Airport (built for €10.25B!), battle a 6-hour layover with pricey food, free Wi-Fi hacks, bank card fails, and gate confusion. Then a quick hop to Tivat: forced carry-on check, random bag search, shuttle to hotel, and stunning Montenegro coastal drives. Finally, port security, small boat transfer, team luggage haul, and onboard! Met my casino supervisor/roomie, grabbed my uniforms, dove into safety training (fire hoses & CPR), explore Split, Croatia for calzones & kebabs, and crushed my first few casino shifts.
