With the launch of the Quantum of the Seas in 2014 Royal Caribbean launched it's first onboard mobile app, Royal iQ. They have since replaced that app with a newer version known simply as the Royal Caribbean International App. This new app features a more intuitive and fluid flow to it's design that has a greater focus on visual appeal than the original that was more about being functional. Unlike the original Royal iQ app this new app is available to guest prior to boarding. This allows for it to be linked to your reservation and utilized to start viewing compasses, menus, excursions, and make reservations both prior to boarding as well as onboard with a seamless experience. You can also use it to view your account statement while onboard as well as to assist in navigating your way around the ship. Unlike the original Royal iQ app, the new Royal Caribbean International app does not include any communication features for an additional cost, though the functionality is rumored to be in the works.
