The 'BATH SPA EXPRESS' with No.70000 "Britannia" - 03/08/2011

The first of the 'Torbay Express Ltd.'s 'Bath Spa Express' excursions from Poole to Bath and Bristol on Wednesday 3rd August 2011. This new series of excursions joins the 'Railway Touring Company's 'Dorset Coast Express' trains for regular runs around the South of England for the summer. The 'Bath Spa Express' will run every two weeks rather than every week like the 'DCE'. The two locomotives selected for these runs were BR 'Britannia'-class 4-6-2 No.70000 "Britannia" and LNER A4-class 4-6-2 No.60019 "Bittern" (running as No.4492 "Dominion of New Zealand"). The first run was on Wednesday 3rd August behind "Britannia" seen here passing through Totton on both the outward and return journeys. The second half of this video (the return journey) is almost identical to the very first video I filmed when No.70013 "Oliver Cromwell" worked a similar train from Poole to Bristol on May 30th 2009. I was at the same location and with the sun in a similar position.
