We sailed the Greek isles with Azamara Cruises and spent one day each on the incredible islands of Cyprus, Rhodes, Crete, Santorini, and Mykonos. On Crete, we walk the grounds of Knossos Palace, believed to be the site of the mythological labyrinth designed for King Minos. The labyrinth's function was to hold the Minotaur, the monster eventually killed by the hero Theseus. Go back in time to learn about the history of the Palace and imagine how the ancient Minoan civilization lived and thrived here. Then we stroll the streets of Heraklion, Crete's capital city, to visit the markets and Agios Titos, an impressive Orthodox church.
