VETTED FOR 2026: Originally filmed to see if the Regent could beat the JW Marriott, this remains my top recommendation for Vietnam. Here is why the design holds up—and the one area where they are still failing. 📍 SUPPORT INDEPENDENT REVIEWS -This channel is 100% self-funded. After 10 years living in Southeast Asia and visiting 15+ properties on this island, I’m giving you my honest, unsponsored review of IHG’s newest luxury flagship. Phu Quoc has undergone a massive transformation, but with rapid development comes "tackiness." The Regent, designed by Blink Design Group, is the first property to bring true, understated sophistication to the island. From the 262 swimming pools to the "Refreshment Gallery" (the famous free mini-bar), we’re touring every inch of this property—including the Garden Pool Villa upgrade I received via IHG Platinum status. However, "Sublime" doesn't mean perfect. My dinner at Ocean Club was one of the most disappointing "fine dining" executions I've had in years. I’ll break down exactly what went wrong with the food and service. IN THIS VIDEO -Full tour of the Garden Pool Villa and "with compliments" amenities. -A breakdown of the 262 swimming pools on property. -Honest critique of the dining at Oku, Rice Market, and Ocean Club. -Comparison: Why this surpassed the JW Marriott Phu Quoc. -Technical breakdown of the IHG / Regent brand relaunch. I pay for all of my flights and hotels (and I always tell you how much!) so I can be as honest and impartial as possible. I do not receive any special treatment that wouldn’t otherwise be publicly accessible, in fact, the hotels and airlines have no idea about my visit and that's the way I like it! #regent #phuquoc #hotelreview
