YouTube Video Description

The FREE show of the "Dance of the Fliers" at the Costa Maya Cruise Port. Start to Finish adventure of the ritual of the Papantla Flyers. Come join us as we watch "Danza de los Voladores" as we visited the Costa Maya sea port on our cruise aboard the Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas. I will go over the history of The Danza de los Voladores. This a ceremony has deep spiritual and ritual significance originating from the Mexican state of Veracruz. La danza de los voladores de Papantla The ritual of the Papantla Flyers is a pre-Hispanic ritual where four flying men climb a 30-meter (75 ft) pole to then lunch themselves from the pole tied with ropes to circle the pole while in the air. During the entire ritual a fifth member dances, play the flute and drums. The Danza de los Voladores, or the Dance of the Flyers, is a tradition dating back centuries. Once practiced by the indigenous peoples of Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua and El Salvador as a way to connect with their gods, the tradition was partially lost after the Spanish conquest. It is said that the ceremony was created to appease the Gods and ask them to bring an end to a severe drought, although there are variations on this in different indigenous Mexican tribes. ___________________________________________ Leave a Tip: https://streamelements.com/fearlessrambler/tip ___________________________________________ Social Media: https://www.instagram.com/fearlessrambler https://www.facebook.com/FearlessRambler e-mail: fearlessrambler@gmail.com ___________________________________________ Send Me a Postcard: P.O.
