Welcome to a brand new series of Greece Vlogs!! Come join us as we head to Athens!! I don't talk in the video about all the things you have to do test wise as I went over this all in the France vlogs and things change so quickly. If you do want to see about precautions I have linked the video above. In this vlog I show you things to do in Athens! A sightseeing tour around Athens, Greece. I start off on the balcony of our very well situated Athens hotel, Herodion Hotel. Highly recommend this hotel! We show you our hotel breakfast which was delicious. Simon and I talk you through the sites on the map so you can get an idea of our day. We start off at Hadrian's arch or Hadrian's gate. The old entrance to Athens. We then walk to the Temple of Zeus. You pay to get into here usually but on this Sunday there was free entrance. It was spectacular and so big. There are also some Roman baths and lots of marble. We go past lots of funky flavours of Fanta. We then head to Acropolis Hill where the Parthenon is. This was also free entry. It is quite a walk but worth it for the amazing views over Athens. I show you the theatre of Dionysus and the Theatre of Herodion. We get to the top and I show you the majestic wonder that is the Acropolis. We climb down the hill going passed market stalls and street entertainment. We go through Plaka and Monastiraki and have a coffee with a view of the Acropolis. Next up are the Ancient Agoras! We go to the Roman Agora and the Greek Athenian ancient agora. Palace of the giants, temple of Hephaestus. We visit a restored Stoa and show you all 3 types of pillars (fun lol), Tower of the winds. In Plaka we find a hard Rock cafe, Ermu Street for the Starbucks as we collect the you are here mugs. We head back to the hotel for a relax and hot tub with an Acropolis view. Next up we go for dinner at a Greek Taverna called Opos Palia. We had lots of traditional greek food including Saganaki, Moussaka, Tzatziki, greek sausage, greek salad etc. We finish on a game of backgammon. Hope you enjoy this jam packed day!
