We didn’t just walk into a London pub—we lit it up! On London Marathon Day, we turned the historic Audley Public House into our own little celebration of song, laughter, and classic British flavors—while the bar staff and marathon runners watched, laughed, and cheered us on! Set in the heart of Mayfair, the Audley Public House has been part of London’s rich pub culture since 1888. With its stunning restoration—original Victorian woodwork, stained glass windows, and painted ceilings—it feels like stepping back in time, with a pint in hand. The timing couldn’t have been better. The London Marathon, a massive event since 1981, brought tens of thousands of runners and supporters into the city, and the pub was buzzing with post-race energy. As marathon participants stopped in to celebrate and recover, we brought our own brand of entertainment—singing, storytelling, and a few laughs with the incredibly kind and welcoming bar staff and fellow pub-goers. Here’s what we got into: 🍻 Tried warm English beer—authentic and flavorful, though Michael may have quietly wished for ice cubes. 🍸 Sampled London Dry Gin, crisp, botanical, and proudly British. 🎶 Sang (a lot)—the crowd didn’t join in, but they definitely enjoyed the show! 🍽️ Devoured a classic Sunday Roast—roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, potatoes, veggies, and rich gravy. This centuries-old tradition remains a Sunday staple. 🐟 Finished with fish & chips and mushy peas, a working-class favorite since the 1800s, and still one of the most beloved dishes across the UK. This day was the perfect blend of history, heart, and hilarity.
