Creator's Key Takeaways
I am a Hyatt globalist and they used a sweet upgrade before my stay to make sure I got the Lagoon Suite with a plunge pool
the food on the resort is absolutely amazing if a little expensive for Mexico but that's kind of to be expected at a resort of this caliber
we really only headed into town one night uh there's lots of restaurants in town and shopping in downtown it's also known for its Seafood
the Family Pool is not gigantic by any means but it has a lot of shade which is nice especially when it's hot outside

The Thompson Zihuatanejo had been long on my list of properties to visit, since I love the Thompson brand and love my World of Hyatt Globalist status! Located in the town of Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, which is a direct flight from several US cities including Phoenix and Los Angeles, it's a quick 20 minute drive from the airport to the resort. Located on Playa La Ropa, the best beach in town, this resort does not disappoint. While you won't find any deals when it comes to food prices, the food quality is excellent, and I was thrilled to spend 3 nights here!
