The month of February was a mixed-bag affair for Americas. In 2012, North American outbound travel has increased by 3%, with short-haul travel declining 1% but long-haul travel growing by 6%, according to the World Travel Monitor. In South America there has been a 12% increase in outbound trips to a new all-time high, driven by Brazilians, but growth is likely to slow down in 2013. However, considering Asia's continuing contribution to the global tourism arena, the days ahead looks good for the world tourism sector.
