I was pleased to find so many senior discounts on tickets and admissions.

For solo travelers, I think you will find Vilnius a very welcome and comfortable city.

The reward at the top was fantastic, though.

The boat ride was about an hour, and I enjoyed every minute of it.

YouTube Video Description↓

I recently spent two days in Vilnius, Lithuania. This video shares my five favorite places I visited, as well as my experience as a senior traveling solo. At the end of the video, I provide some tips and advice for anyone planning a visit. Here are my five favorite places: 1. Town Hall Square, the main plaza in the center of Old Town. 2. Gediminas Castle Tower, one of the highest points in Vilnius, with great views of the entire city and Neris River. 3. Vilnius Cathedral and Bell Tower: Located in Cathedral Square on the edge of Old Town, the chapel has eye-catching architecture and decorative details. 4. Walk the Streets of Old Town, which are some of the most charming and picturesque streets in Europe, including St Anne's Church and the Uzupis District. 5. Trakai: My absolute favorite place I visited in Vilnius was actually not in Vilnius. It was a 30-minute train ride out of the city. The Trakai Castle is an island castle located in Lake GalvΔ—. To get to Trakai, I walked from the heart of old town to the train station, purchased a round-trip ticket for $3.20, took the next train to Trakai, then hailed a ride share or Bolt from the train station to the Trakai Castle. For solo travelers, I think you will find Vilnius a very welcome and comfortable and comfortable city. It was also less expensive than it's Scandinavian neighbors. For Seniors, the old town of the city was fairly easy to navigate, with some hills, inclines and lots of cobblestones. If you have any mobility issues, do some extra research in advance. I was pleased to find so many senior discounts on tickets and admissions. One note of caution for anyone visiting, the scooters and bikes often ride on the sidewalks, weaving between pedestrians, so keep your eyes open when walking. @seniorsolotravel Facebook Travel Forum: https://www.facebook.com/groups/443309331791413 Senior Solo Travel Website: https://www.seniorsolotravel.net/ Vilnius Tourist Website: https://www.govilnius.lt/visit-vilnius Scandinavian & Baltic Trip videos: Vilnius: https://youtu.be/FL8f7rP7qP8 Air Baltic-Economy: https://youtu.be/lhokVU-Xw_U Riga: https://youtu.be/ZPPP943sEds Lux Express Coach-Tallinn to Riga: https://youtu.be/l5_fMoGlSHQ Tallinn: https://youtu.be/IVK_vsC4OY0 Helsinki to Tallin Ferry: https://youtu.be/EzeAn1C4FvM Helsinki: https://youtu.be/lR6o6URJ3lM Stockholm-Helsinki Overnight Ferry: https://youtu.be/TTVAlq-92yE Stockholm: https://youtu.be/jUeo-BJ4WjI Flamsbana Railway from Flam to Myrdal: https://youtu.be/fJRTT2OE0Hg Bergen to Flam by Train, Bus & Boat: https://youtu.be/iNzn6c1x7JY Bergen: https://youtu.be/gkx1WQU-AZU Ponant Le Bellot Cruise Experience: https://youtu.be/kI93RZC4P_k Norwegian Cruise: https://youtu.be/Q0cEDFZo_m8 Oslo: https://youtu.be/_0GUWomILjo Copenhagen to Oslo Overnight Ferry: https://youtu.be/yVSIaNrj2AI Malmo, Sweden: https://youtu.be/ebgBHybtGjA Copenhagen: https://youtu.be/1is7PDVwI8k Please subscribe and turn on notifications to follow more of this Scandinavian and Baltic journey, including Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. 0:00 Intro 0:20 Town Hall Square 1:16 Gediminas Castle Tower 2:54 Vilnius Cathedral & Bell Tower 4:55 Old Town 6:20 Trakai 10:24 Advice 11:21 Outro
