Creator's Key Takeaways
Today we are getting off the ship without any planned excursions, but we do find a pretty cool castle to go through.
We did get off the ship pretty early because it's been quite hot out.
Overall, this castle is really fun to go to. Again, very different than the other ones we've seen, and it's nice to kind of get a glimpse of history.
If you are going to go to this, probably get there early and it beat the heat and also make sure you have euros.

Today we didn’t make any excursions, just want to walk around and see what we find. We found some of our friends from the boat We checked out the Bodrum castle ( Castle of St. Peter) here We got there at a good time as there wasn’t too much of a line to get in. It is a paid site which will cost you around 20 Euros, hours are 8:30 AM - 11 PM We started at the exit funny enough but you can explore it however you want. Some fun facts: Construction started in 1402 The knights were a collection of people from all over the world the 5 towers each represent a different nationality: British, French , German, Italian and Spanish Towers. In 1532 the Ottaman Empire conquered the castle and turned it into a Mosque and later a garrison base. In the 19th century it was turned into a prison but due to an attack from WW1 the prisoners had to be moved. In 1962 Turkish government turned this into the Museum of Underwater Archeology, where they store the finds from the Aegean Sea Shipwrecks Be careful walking, people fell on some of these rocks. They are very slick over here. It’s really fun to explore all the nook and crannies, walking through history. We were here for a few hours then decided to walk back and relax before dinner and Scarlet night. What are some of your favorite things to do in Bodrum and what are you looking most forward to. Have a Magical Day! #virginvoyages #resilientlady #bodrumturkey #europeantravel #cruisevlog
