Creator's Key Takeaways
Overall, the tour was pretty amazing. It's interesting to see um the structure of what was once the village on top of the island
It was also just really cool to see things made and civilization before BC time
I do not recommend that because apparently they're really cruel to them over here and we love animals

Day 2 of our Greek Isle Glow Cruise takes us to the beautiful island of Santorini. Today we our taking our Akrotiri Ruins & Oia Village Visit excursion. We start by meeting on Deck 7 to check-in and get our group number. From there we head to the Red Room and wait to be called. This is one island where the ships can’t dock so we are anchored in the sea and will take a tender to shore, which is a very short ride. It was a little rocky but we made it in one piece. We found our group and boarded the bus please note that there are bathrooms at port but they cost at least 1 Euro and you need to hurry so you don’t get left behind The roads these buses are driving on are not for the faint of heart. It does look like you’re going to drive off the cliffs but they do it all the time so just don’t look down. We make it to the Akrotiri Ruins and they are incredible. You can’t take pics or videos inside, unless they tell you it’s ok. Everything in here predates B.C. time which is mind blowing. After this we had to take the bus over to Oia Village which is where the white buildings with Blue tops that everyone images when they think of Greece are located. It’s really hot here still so make sure you bring water, sunblock and proper clothing. If you want the perfect picture of those famous blue top buildings be ready to wait at least an hour for the perfect shot. If you can get to the little corner where the path splits you can get a great shot still without the wait. Be mindful of how you’re navigating the area because you can get really turned around. After this we met back to the bus and headed to Fira to catch the cable cars back to port. Make sure you grab your ticket before you leave because you’ll need that to take the cable car. You have to keep hiking through the city to get there, keep an eye out for the signs. There’s also lots of shopping here if you want to pop in to some stores. Otherwise once you’re ready head on down to port. Overall this was an excellent experience and you should def pop in here. Just note the time of year because it is hot!!!
