If you didn’t already know, Virgin Voyages has packed their ships with Michelin Star cuisine! It’s really no joke at how good all the eateries are and Gunbae is no exception. This is a very different experience from any other eatery on the ship. Each table seats 6 people. If you don’t fill up a table with your party then you’ll be sat next to others sailors on the ship. It sounds slightly awkward, but it was honestly an amazing time. Our table had a really fun group and we had a great time getting to know each other. You start off by chatting with your server/entertainer/cook, ours was Simba who we highly suggest asking for when you go. You start by playing a fun drinking game, if you’re not a drinker then water works just as well. Once the game has ended it’s time to start eating. Simba picked out what meats he would be cooking after getting our preferences. The Dakgangjeong was 🔥, some of the best fried chicken we’ve had. The shrimp and beef was cooked to perfection. We ate every last bit of it. Then we had this soft serve dessert that wasn’t anything we expected. It was savory and sweet, really the perfect end to the experience. For Mitchell this was his favorite restaurant because of the experience quality so different than every other restaurant and the food knocked almost every other restaurants out of the park, in its own unique way.
