About our Bacon Score methodology
YouTube Video Description

Visby, Sweden quickly became one of our favorite ports on our Baltic cruise! Instead of booking an excursion, we set out on foot to explore this beautifully preserved medieval city—and we're so glad we did. Just a short walk from the cruise port, we entered Visby's UNESCO World Heritage Old Town through the historic Söderport gate and spent the day wandering cobblestone streets lined with charming shops, cafés, and centuries of history. Along the way, we explored medieval church ruins, visited the beautiful St. Mary's Cathedral, admired the impressive Saint Nicolai Abbey ruins, enjoyed panoramic views over the city, and finished our walk through Visby's peaceful Botanical Garden. Visby is one of those rare cruise ports where you don't need an excursion to have an amazing day. Nearly everything is within walking distance, making it easy to experience one of Europe's best-preserved medieval cities at your own pace. If you're planning a Baltic cruise with Princess Cruises—or any cruise line visiting Visby—we hope this video helps you decide how to spend your day. We're Ed & Mai, WanderFree Retirees. After retiring early, we sold our home and most of our possessions to travel the world full-time on a realistic retirement budget. We share honest cruise experiences, retirement travel, and practical tips to help others see more of the world.
