Creator's Key Takeaways

We've used the cruise express service before and we found it really convenient.

We have also tested out the route by train and out of the two, we think the Cruise Express is definitely the easiest and the most value for money.

It was a great atmosphere.

We highly recommend that if it's your first time in Bruge that you pop on one of these canal tours.

Creator's Tips & Advice

Book Cruise Express tickets in advance to secure your spot.
When leaving Cruise Express, look for the red bridge and turn left to head straight into Bruge center.
If visiting Bruge, try a canal tour for a fantastic experience.
On formal night, arrive at the main dining room a bit earlier to avoid crowds.

About our Bacon Score methodology
YouTube Video Description

On day 2 of our Cunard Queen Victoria New Years Cruise, we visited the port of Zeebrugge, Belgium, where we made our way to Bruges to visit the Christmas Markets! We used the complimentary shuttle to exit the port and used Cruise Express, which is located just outside the port of Zeebrugge. In Bruges we walked the cobbled streets and visited the various Christmas markets that were set up all over the city. We also took the opportunity to do a Belgium beer tasting experience and found an excellent viewing area overlooking the main square. Back onboard Queen Victoria it was our first formal night, and we made of the most of it by dining in the Britannia restaurant and then heading to our reserved box in the Royal Court Theatre to watch Roy Hemmings from the Drifters. During the evening the ship was very busy, and we ended our evening by chatting to our fellow passengers and sitting in the Midship’s lounge. Launched in December 2007, she was the first Cunard ship to be named by a member of the British royal family, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. Built by Fincantieri in Italy, Queen Victoria is the second-largest ship in the Cunard fleet, measuring 965 feet in length and carrying up to 2,081 guests and 981 crew. Her design echoes the golden age of ocean travel, with grand staircases, rich wood paneling, and art deco-inspired interiors. Queen Victoria offers a unique blend of British tradition and contemporary cruising. She features spacious staterooms, many with private balconies, and a range of dining options, including the elegant Britannia Restaurant and the exclusive Queens Grill and Princess Grill suites. Guests enjoy a variety of amenities, such as a two-story library, a Royal Court Theatre with private boxes, a spa and wellness center, swimming pools, and traditional afternoon tea in the Queens Room. Known for world voyages and transatlantic crossings, Queen Victoria is a favorite for travelers seeking refined experiences. She continues to uphold Cunard’s legacy of elegance, offering a blend of heritage, luxury, and adventure on the high seas.
