We are sailing on Margaritaville at Sea Islander and have arrived at our first Port of Call in Progreso, Mexico. This is a port we have not been to often... let's be honest, Progreso is not a port that is high on the must-visit list for many people... but it really is a great port! And we found the BEST excursion! Yes, this is the port where you can go visit Chichen Itza... but not everyone wants to do that. Us included. We wanted a fun day and not too long of a drive from the port! So we went and had a chat with the Shore Excursions desk to see what all they had! And THIS one was perfect for us! Only a little over an hour from the port and we get to swim in a cenote... inside of a cave, ride ATVs and have an authentic Mayan lunch!! This was great! And to top it off, we got a tour of a 19th century Hacienda (dungeon included) and the grounds which are an agave plantation. This day was better than we even expected! And back on the ship, the fun continued with good food and live music! #progreso #whattodoinprogreso #margaritavilleatsea
