We Landed in Barcelona… and This Happened!

Our Virgin Voyages Transatlantic adventure officially begins — and our very first day in Barcelona, Spain takes an unexpected turn! In this episode, we land at Barcelona Airport, navigate our way through the terminal, grab a taxi into the city center, and arrive at our beautiful Airbnb. Since check-in isn’t until later in the afternoon, we drop our bags and head straight out to explore the streets of Barcelona. Not long into our walk, we spot graffiti that reads “Tourists Go Home” 😳 — definitely not the welcome we were expecting on Day 1. But just minutes later, everything changes when we stumble into a lively local neighbourhood fiesta in the town square! 🎺🎶 There’s a marching band, people dressed in period costumes, and an open invitation for everyone to join in. What started as an uneasy moment turns into one of our favorite spontaneous travel memories. Back at the Airbnb, we take you on a full tour of our 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom flat, complete with a private outdoor terrace — our home base in Barcelona before setting sail. 🏡🌴 Later that evening, Dr. Romance makes an appearance as we head out for a relaxing nighttime stroll through the city before calling it a day. 💃🌙 This episode is all about first impressions, unexpected moments, and the magic of simply wandering while you travel. ⚓ If you're new here — welcome aboard the Dockside Crew!
