We left Star Princess in Skagway, Alaska for nearly eight hours on the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad adventure to Bennett Lake — crossing into the Yukon by train and returning to port by bus. This is the longer White Pass experience, taking you far beyond the usual Summit ride for dramatic mountain scenery, historic rail views, wildlife opportunities, and a full Alaska-and-Canada port day that completely wore us out. On Day 5 of our Star Princess Alaska cruise, we wake up early in Skagway and board the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad for one of the biggest excursions of our trip. The train takes us through incredible Alaska and Yukon scenery to Bennett Lake before we switch to a motorcoach for the ride back to Skagway. We are only sharing a few highlights here because this excursion deserves its own complete review.
