Creator's Key Takeaways
We stepped off the cruise ship in Auckland expecting honestly not much. However, it turned out to be a fantastic day.
One of the highlights for us was learning about the haka. And seeing it explained and performed was powerful. It honestly gave us chills.
We would absolutely recommend this. Whether you're a rugby fan or not, I guarantee you after you do this experience, you'll become a rugby fan if you're not.

We stepped off our cruise ship in Auckland expecting honestly not much — and we were completely wrong. What we thought would be a simple port day turned into one of the most enjoyable and surprising cruise stops of our entire trip. In this video, we share how we spent our cruise stop day in Auckland, New Zealand. We started our morning with a guided city experience with Go Guided New Zealand, which was a relaxed and informative way to get oriented and see the highlights of the city right from the cruise port. We then walked around the city, visited the Sky Tower area, and made our way to the All Blacks Experience — a cultural highlight that completely surprised us, even though we’re not rugby fans. We also spent time walking along Auckland’s harbor, admiring the yachts and sailboats that give the city its nickname, the “City of Sails.” One of our favorite parts of cruising is meeting new people, and we enjoyed lunch with friends we met on the ship at the Occidental Belgian Beer Café before doing a little shopping near the port and heading back to the ship. If you’re cruising to Auckland and wondering whether the stop is worth planning, we share what worked for us, what surprised us the most, and what we would recommend — even if you only have limited time in port. Thanks for watching! If you enjoy cruise travel videos, port day guides, and honest cruise experiences, don’t forget to like and subscribe.
