We were guests of Carnival Cruise Line on this sailing, the first to visit RelaxAway Half Moon Cay, and our opinions here are entirely our own. 🍔 CASUAL DINING THAT CAUGHT US OFF GUARD The biggest surprise of the whole cruise. Carnival Sunrise carries a casual lineup that rivals what you find on Carnival's newest and largest ships, plus a couple of venues that were brand new to us. On a 5-day sailing with one sea day, we ran out of time before we ran out of places to eat. 🍽️ MAIN DINING ROOM AND SPECIALTY RESTAURANTS Two dining rooms, three dining formats, and a handful of upcharge venues. We break down how the service held up, which dining option we would choose again, and whether the specialty restaurants justify the extra cost on a ship this age. 🛏️ THE BALCONY STATEROOM Our honest take on where the refurbishment stopped. If you are used to newer hardware at sea, there are a few things worth knowing before you book a cabin on Carnival Sunrise. 🍹 BARS, LOUNGES, AND THE NIGHTLIFE SCENE Piano Bar 88, RedFrog Pub, Alchemy Bar, Java Blue Cafe, and more. Carnival Sunrise has fewer signature bars than newer ships in the fleet, and that has a real effect on your evening. We also share one small coffee tip that saves regular java drinkers money. 🎭 ENTERTAINMENT AND THE MAIN THEATER Playlist Productions shows, game shows, comedy, and themed deck parties every night.
