On day 6 of our Riviera Travel Gastronomy of Switzerland and the Rhine River Cruise we spent the morning exploring Rüdesheim and we took the cable car up to the Niederwald Monument. Rüdesheim is a German winemaking town in the Rhine Gorge. On our way back to the ship we stopped and treated ourselves to a Rüdesheim Coffee. We spent the afternoon sailing through the Rhine Gorge on our way to Koblenz and found it beautiful and fascinating. In the early evening, we explored Koblenz by foot and took the cable car across the Rhine. Back onboard Geoffrey Chaucer it was the Captains Dinner, and we were treated to spectacular set dinner. For this evening’s entertainment Riviera had a arranged for an authentic German Oompah band to perform in the lounge. Although we were invited on by Riviera our thoughts and opinions are our own.
