Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Gem cruises out of New York City and boasts a large number of loyal repeat cruisers who like the easy access to the ship from the NYC area for quick winter getaways. Norwegian Gem received refurbishments in late 2014, and they were performed without taking the ship out of service, a tricky and unique process in the cruise industry.
