Hello Travelers, I boarded the Carnival Firenze on June 4, 2024. This is a short five day cruise, visiting Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico. I’ve been to both ports, but I was really excited about this cabin! Alas, we must get off the ship today. Carnival had us sign up for a disembarkation time slot in their app, and I was in group 14, scheduled to leave between 9 and 9:20 am. No groups were called over the PA system, and the app made no notifications either. So when I realized it was 9:17am, I headed down to deck 3 and joined the line. It went pretty smoothly and my suitcases were ready in the terminal building, so that was good. However, shortly after entering the terminal building where the luggage was stored, one of the people there told me that there was no filming allowed, so I had to stop. I’ve filmed in this particular building many times and never heard of such a thing. I wonder if it is a new rule? Customs uses facial recognition, so it is really fast when paired with the use of a porter to skip the big line. He got me to my bus and headed to LAX in no time at all!
