Creator's Key Takeaways

I thought you know it's something that people on cruise ships use on a regular basis it would be good to film some of the challenges of using mobility scooter on a cruise ship environment

it was gone this morning and then when she came back to her room or the next time she looked out I'm not sure which it was back but it was in front of her neighbors Kevin instead of in front of hers

I'm really disappointed that there is no handicapped bathroom in here

I was pretty impressed that they found it that fast so there's that

YouTube Video Description

Hello Travelers, I boarded Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas in August of 2022. This video shows our adventures with using a mobility scooter on the ship. If you’ve seen some of the other videos in this series, you know that my Dad is having some health issues, and was supposed to be on the cruise with us. I thought it would be a good idea to rent a mobility scooter because the ship is big, and my Dad is not great at walking distances just now. He wasn’t too thrilled at the idea of using a scooter, but I kept the rental just in case. Well, he didn’t get to come on the cruise with us after all, as the doctor told him he wasn’t safe to cruise at this time. But I still had to scooter, and wanted to make a video showing some of the challenges of using one on a cruise ship. People use them all the time on ships, and knowing what you might be facing can’t hurt. Most challenging was finding enough space in the elevators. Sometimes you will need to wait until there is an elevator empty enough to use. Consider going the opposite direction you need if the elevator is open and the ones going your direction aren’t. You can always ride it to the end and then send it back the way you need it to go. While navigating around the ship is largely pretty easy, the other challenge we saw was in using the restrooms. Some of the public restrooms had enough space for the scooter to be driven in, but lacked a handicapped stall. I did find one that was large enough later on when we didn’t have the scooter with us, and I filmed that as well. Then, to add to the fun, the scooter vanished twice. Once it was the crew, but the other time, it was just stolen. The security personnel took our report, and in about 3 hours, were able to locate and return it to us. What a relief! I was very glad that I had opted for the full insurance when I booked it. I recommend anyone renting a scooter do the same for just this reason. Please like this video and subscribe to my channel to make sure you don’t miss future content. I have more videos for this cruise, as well as future cruises booked through the rest of this year and beyond. Thanks for watching!
