On August 21, 2021, the Carnival Panorama restarted the west coast cruises to Mexico from Long Beach, California. I was on that first sailing, and this is my embarkation day video. The ship went to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas before returning to Long Beach. I landed in Long Beach and after picking up my bags at baggage claim (which is outside in the Long Beach airport). I booked an airport transfer with the cruise line, and the representative was right there talking to everyone at baggage claim. The bus arrived within about half an hour, and we were off to the ship. The drive was around half an hour as well. Long Beach Cruise Terminal is right next to where the Queen Mary is docked. If you travel the day before, it might be something you want to go tour. We dropped our bags off with the porters (remember to tip them!) and were off to the terminal. The terminal staff did not inquire when my boarding appointment was (you had to make them ahead of time in the app as part of the check in process), they just let me walk right in. After a line that took maybe 20 minutes to get through, I was able to show my vaccine and Covid testing documents and do a quick health check before being allowed to go through security. There is a row of agents after security if you haven't completed check in, or have questions. Otherwise, it is onto the ship from there. The crew was so welcoming and helpful, and I wanted to give a shout out to them for being so awesome. More videos to come as I finish editing.
