Hello Travelers, I am traveling solo on the brand new Discovery Princess cruise ship out of Los Angeles. This is her inaugural sailing, the first with paying passengers. She is a gorgeous ship, and I really enjoyed being able to sail on her. This video is from day 3 of our journey, and we stop at Cabo San Lucas. Cabo is a tender port, and the tendering process for groups on shore excursions was a bit chaotic. They had us meet in the Princess Theater and then let us off only when their tenders were big enough to hold each group. It took longer than expected, and we were a bit late arriving in port as well. So we got on shore a couple of hours late, and our tour thus left late. I booked the Todos Santos tour via the Princess website, and Iβm very glad I did. Our tour was fun, Todos Santos is a cute little town. We visited a cultural center, which had exhibits to see. Admission into the museum was included in the tour. Our guide was good about explaining the exhibits as we walked through. This was also a bathroom stop for the group, but the womenβs restroom had just the one roll of toilet paper left for about 15 women. Not an ideal situation. One of the men went to their restroom and brought us out more paper, but then the toilets stopped flushing. In Mexico, a lot of times, you will find that used toilet paper is not to be flushed, but put into a container nearby. The older buildings plumbing in particular is not equipped to handle the toilet paper. This building seems to be an example of that problem. Our guide walked us one street over from the main drag, and we got to tour the town square with its gazebo. There was also a mission we could visit, and one of the brightly colored signs with the name of the town where you could take pictures. The area immediately around the Hotel California had shopping, restaurants and bars. Our guide took us to the restaurant next to the lobby of the Hotel California for an included lunch. It included a non-alcoholic drink. There was also someone with two kinds of tequila liquer for sale ($55 US per bottle), which they were offering free shots from. We were told to be back at the bus by a certain time, so that we would get back before the final tender left. We got back too late, and missed the tender. It was dark, and they escorted us from the bus through all the shops to the tender they had procured for us to use. But since it was a Princess tour, I was very glad the ship waited.
