Hello Travelers, In August of 2023, I did my first full transit of the Panama Canal with Princess cruises. It was a 19 day cruise, the longest I had been on to date. This is day 5 of the cruise, and we are docked in Puerto Vallarta. I booked a shore excursion through the ship to do a Luxury Day Sailing. As printed on the shore excursion tickets that Princess delivers to your stateroom at the start of the cruise, we all met in the Princess Theater. They then walked us as a group off the ship, and then kinda abandoned us. We were milling about, not sure what to do or where to go, when we approached a lady outside of the cruise terminal who was with the shore excursions team. She directed us over to βArea Aβ and we all waited for a bit there. Eventually, someone came and got us all and led us out the large gate on the side to walk over to a dock just behind the ship. There waiting for us was a large dinghy that we boarded, and it took us over to the Marina where our sailing ship was waiting. The ship was pretty and they had an area downstairs that had the galley and restrooms for people to use to change, etc. I sat down in that area cooling off in the AC for a bit of the initial sail out to the pretty rock formations that took around 45 minutes. After we saw those, we ended up in a sheltered cove with a nice coral reef. One of the crew led a snorkel trip over to the reef for anyone who wanted to go. The ship provided snorkels and fins, and they also had some water toys available, including a very large floaty for people to go play on. They provided us with what they called a snack on the way out, which had some fresh fruit and guacamole with ships. On the way back, there was a lunch which was a charcuterie board, and also a pickled veggie and shrimp salad. Dinner was at Streamers, which is the second of the two popup restaurants that Princess is offering for an upcharge of $15. It is basically a section in the aft of the buffet that they have and every three days, one of these popups is running. For three days it will be Planks, the bbq popup, and then the next three it will be Steamers. I enjoyed both of these two restaurants.
