YouTube Video Description

Hello Travelers, In July of 2023, I did my first Alaska cruise tour with Princess cruises. If you haven’t done one of these before, it is a bit different than just going on a cruise. I went on an amazing excursion to Hubbard Glacier. We were cruising—this technically was a sea day—and this boat came alongside the ship and those of us who had booked this excursion got on board. Then the ship went along its merry way while we went to go see the Hubbard Glacier up close and personal. This is one of the few advancing glaciers left in the world, and that means it is actively calving ice into the water at the face of the glacier. Hubbard was very active and I got several calving events on film. You can see the ice field in front of the glacier, and that is why we could not approach any closer. Even at this distance, getting to hear the glacier and the sounds it makes when it is cracking and material is falling off it is really wonderful. Sometimes it sounds like a gun going off, and it can be quite loud. I also ran into one of my fellow cruise tubers, @Code4forlife. Give them a follow if you haven’t already! Please like this video and subscribe to my channel to make sure you don’t miss future content. I have more videos for this cruise, as well as future cruises booked through the rest of this year and beyond. Thanks for watching!
