Hello Travelers, In August of 2023, I did my first full transit of the Panama Canal with Princess cruises. It was a 19 day cruise, the longest I had been on to date. Our cruise ended in New York City, and I stayed a few days afterwards, since I had not been there before. Today I am taking a tour to Liberty Island to see the Statue of Liberty. Our tour met at a building across from Battery Park, and our guide walked us through the rain to the ferry. It was a short ride to the island, and we had just under an hour to tour. It was wonderful seeing Lady Liberty for the first time up close. There are also tours that include the pedestal, but ours did not. When I come back another time, I’d like to visit again and see if I can’t see the pedestal tour, and spend some more time there. An hour was not enough to do more than whet my appetite.
