HAL Koningsdam Tracy Arm Fjord & Glacier Explorer Cruise Excursion | | Holland America Cruise VLOG

Hello Travelers, I boarded the Holland America Cruiseline’s Koningsdam on September 10, 2022. This video shows a very nice excursion I took on Day 3 before we arrived at Juneau. So this was a bit unusual as excursions go. They actually brought their boat out to the ship before we had docked or even really approached Juneau. The ship stopped and allowed them to pull along side us, and we all got on. It was a bit like getting on a tender. The excursion boat was double decker. There was plenty of seating down below, and a snack bar with goodies for sale, along with a bathroom. The top deck was about half enclosed seating and half open deck for people to go and see the sights. Fair warning, it got very cold on that deck. The nice thing was that you could be outside for a while and then go inside and warm up. They took us through some beautiful country and up to the South Sawyer glacier. We saw several lovely waterfalls coming and going. The nice thing about this was that we got up close and personal with the waterfalls and the glacier. Not quite as close as the zodiacs that the Seabourn Odyssey deployed, but still, closer than a large cruise ship could get to. They also grabbed a chunk of the glacial floating ice and brought it on board. They would chip off bits of it for people to try and drink. They also had warm drinks on board for people who wanted to warm up internally, and I can’t remember if there was alcohol served or not. This was a wonderful trip, and I really recommend it to anyone who has a chance to take this excursion. Please like this video and subscribe to my channel to make sure you don’t miss future content.
