Creator's Key Takeaways
This is a very unusual cruise line.
The leadup to the gang way is one pallet and then two pallets stacked on top of each other and a carpet put on top of them and then you get onto the actual gang way.
I was just blown away by this. ... Wow, that looks kind of ghetto.
They actually still have in-person mustard drills.

Hello Travelers, I took a cruise with Hurtigruten’s Roald Amundsen down the east coast. Today was embarkation day, and I showed up at the cruise port (after having to call customer service and find out where it was, since it wasn’t listed in the documentation anywhere). But our ship was not close by like the other ships were. It was not next to the building for the port. So many of us passengers were just milling around until someone with a Hurtigruten sticker on their clipboard came by and we asked them what the deal was. She said they were going to have busses to take us to the ship (since the ship was docked in the back where the port is too industrial to have random passengers lugging baggage wandering around). But the busses didn’t show up when they expected them, and you could tell the people were getting concerned. Finally they told us that they had hijacked one of the busses that was supposed to go pick up passengers at the airport to bring them here, and had it come here first. Naturally, once it arrived and many of us had boarded and had our luggage stored, the shuttles finally showed up. This is just the start of the fun for this embarkation day—see the video for the full story! Please like this video and subscribe to my channel to make sure you don’t miss future content. I have more videos for this trip, as well as future cruises booked through the rest of this year and beyond. Thanks for watching!
