Princess Alaska Cruise Tour | Hotel Captain Cook Room Tour | Solo Travel Vlog

Hello Travelers, In July of 2023, I did my first Alaska cruise tour with Princess cruises. If you haven’t done one of these before, it is a bit different than just going on a cruise. I chose to do the land portion of the tour first, as I had found in my research that people recommended that you get that part over with first before boarding the ship. I second that advice, having done this trip now—it is better to do the land portion first, because you have the logistics with going to a new hotel each evening and handling the bags. Once you finish the land tour, you will really appreciate being able to unpack once on the ship and then just enjoy yourself. So I flew into Anchorage where my tour started a day early and stayed in a budget hotel, because this hotel was quite pricey when I looked it up. Little did I know there was a good reason. This is a very nice hotel, and the room I was in was a one bedroom suite! That was quite a surprise, and I didn’t know if it was just luck of the draw, or if it was because I won my bid on a mini suite, and got my hotel accommodations upgraded as a result. This was room 808, and it was very nice. This hotel has several restaurants on property—one served just breakfast from what I could tell, and another was mostly a coffee place with a few tidbits to eat here and there. The final restaurant was a pub and that was quite good. I ate there as well as the coffee place. The breakfast restaurant was no longer open when I went to try it.
