Breaking News: Unrest in Ensenada - Captain Cancels Shore Excursions | West Coast Mexico

Hello Travelers, I boarded Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas today, August 15, 2022. Today we are in Catalina Island, but the Captain just came on the announcements (and apologized for piping it into both the crew and passenger cabins) to tell us about the situation in Ensenada. The unrest there has been ongoing, and the Captain has decided to cancel all shore excursions that leave the downtown area. I had a shore excursion to the Cheese Caves where they show you how the cheese is made and you get to try some. That shore excursions has been cancelled because it does not stay in the downtown area. When the Captain came on the announcement system, I grabbed my phone to record what he had to say. Since he started with the apology, I figured he had something important to tell us. I had wondered if we would potentially even skip the port visit entirely, but we are still visiting the port of Ensenada.
