Flying Southwest Airlines in a Pandemic | Oakland (OAK) to Los Angeles (LAX) | Trip Report

Hello Travelers, On October 14, 2021, I flew from Oakland to Los Angeles beginning of my cruise on the Grand Princess. This is my flight on Southwest Airlines. After a massive 2k cancelled flights meltdown over the past weekend, I was hoping they had resolved the issues and we’d have a smooth trip. I was pleased to see that they had, and I encountered no problems. The flight was even turbulence free, which is a bonus, given that we were flying down the California coast, and it is frequently a bumpy ride. Beverage service has been altered during the pandemic. They announce the drinks offered and their assigned number. One drink is offered and you select by numbers 1-5: 1. Coke 2. Diet Coke 3. Sprite 4. Water 5. Coffee When they come by you hold up the appropriate number of fingers to indicate your preference. Alcohol was not served on my flights. Oh, and you get a very small bag of pretzels.
