Creator's Key Takeaways

I got a call this morning and they said that the shore excursion was cancelled and so even though I had already ordered my breakfast here early and eaten it, I went back to bed cuz it was early and I was tired.

The coffee is seriously bitter. I mean, so bitter that it's required significant amounts of sweetener to make it palatable.

I actually reached out to the cruise director on the ship and I sort of talked about a little bit what they'd said, what my background was and he gave me his email and I'm going to work on developing a couple of talks.

So, I was at the uh the solo meetup and I met up with one of the a couple of the people that I had met before and so we were we were going to have dinner.

Hello Travelers, Hello Travelers, join me for an unforgettable voyage on a Silversea cruises, where every detail is curated for luxury cruising. Experience the all inclusive cruise lifestyle with first class cruise amenities and gourmet dining aboard a stunning cruise ship. Get ready to set sail on an extraordinary cruise! Day 4 of this cruise finds us in the port of Skagway. I woke to a call from the ship saying that my shore excursion had been cancelled due to bad weather. It was rainy and windy outside, so I quite understood not wanting to have people up on a suspension bridge in that. And it turned out we had inclement weather all day—it didn’t clear up until late in the evening. So, since I had my breakfast already pre-ordered through the little hanging tag they give you, I stayed up for that, and then promptly went back to bed. I woke for lunch, which was at the Arts Cafe—a bit like the International Cafe on Princess ships, if you’ve ever sailed with them. Just a little cafe with pastries and small dishes, plus coffee and tea. It makes for a nice place to grab a casual lunch or breakfast. I was all about the activities on board today. I went to music trivia and some other events. There was a regular solo meetup I attended (they usually end in all of us being escorted to our table in the dining room, and accompanied by one of the ship’s officers as a table companion). But today I had dinner with a couple of the people I had met at a prior meetup. We tried to go to Silver Note (restaurant), but were turned away due to a reservation date mixup. So we want to the S.A.L.T. Kitchen, and they let us right in. It was delicious food, and I hadn’t been sure I would have been able to get to their restaurant, so it was a nice surprise. I also talked to various people, including the cruise director, about the potential for developing a couple of talks based on my background expertise. My career has been in computer security and digital forensics, and I had two potential talks in mind: One of computer security and how to protect yourself online (i.e., the common scams that are seen, and how to have basic cyber hygiene). And two, feature some of the cases that have been either solved largely using digital forensics, or where digital forensics have played a big role in cracking the case. Please put something in the comments if you would be interested in seeing such a talk on a cruise near you! It will let me know if I should develop the talks (and if you prefer one over another, please mention that as well).
