YouTube Video Description

On September 10, 2021 I set sail on Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas for a seven day Alaska cruise visiting Juneau, Skagway and Sitka, plus the Dawes glacier. It is disembarkation day, and they’re being so mean and making me get off the ship! I used the Luggage Valet service (https://www.portseattle.org/page/port-valet-enjoy-seattle-luggage-free) where you put your bags out the night before as usual (after signing up for the service with the cruise line) and they send them directly to the airline, check you into your flight, and provide a boarding pass. It appealed to me not to have to lug my bags around the airport, since I knew I would get there potentially more than the four hours before my flight. Many airlines won’t check bags in until that time, which means I would be stuck with the luggage unable to go through security until the bags were checked. Instead, I was able to use the Alaska Airlines lounge and get some video editing done while waiting for my flight. Much more pleasant. I would certainly recommend this service. The only caveat is that when packing, you have to give some extra thought to what you are keeping behind for your morning and night time routines. I typically don’t have to worry too much about what I will be carrying off the ship, since I will be reunited with my luggage at the cruise terminal, and there will be an opportunity to repack some of the things I used before checking the bags at the airport. You don’t get this opportunity with Luggage Valet, since you don’t see your bags again until you arrive at your destination airport. So make sure everything you bring with you will pass through the TSA security screening checkpoint or you will be having items confiscated. I have more videos for this cruise, as well as future cruises booked through the rest of this year and beyond. Thanks for watching! Solo Sue UPDATE: I seem to have made a mistake with the export of this video. The content cuts off at 1:50 but there is a music track I apparently left in that makes the video the 4 minute, 12 second length. To address this, I'd have to delete the video and upload it brand new. Or I can leave it as is. I'd love to hear from you in the comments on how you'd like to see this kind of issue handled going forward.
