Day 2 of this cruise finds us at the Hubbard Glacier. This is the one place I always try to get to every year when I come to Alaska. The smaller the ship—the closer we can get to the face of the glacier, and the better we can see the calving events. Hubbard is one of only two remaining advancing glaciers in the world. The other one is in Chile, and much harder for me to get to. Hubbard was in fine form today. We had beautiful weather, and the glacier was busy! Lots of great calving events, although one of the best happened just as the ship was turning away, and I struggled to keep it in the camera’s frame. Even as we left, I was able to capture one last decent sized event, although we were pretty far away by then, and I could only get so much detail on my camera from that distance. Dinner was in Kaiseki, the line’s Japanese restaurant. It was delicious, and filling. Please like this video and subscribe to my channel to make sure you don’t miss future content.
