Hello Travelers, I boarded the Seabourn Odyssey on September 29, 2023 for my last cruise of the year. I had never sailed with Seabourn, and they are known as an ultra luxury line. I was very curious to see the differences in how they do things versus the main stream and even premium lines do. This morning, I boarded a zodiac (and promptly fell down) from the ship to allow us to get close to Hubbard Glacier. It was an expensive shore excursions, at $250 per person, but it was so worth it. Not only can you get much closer to the glacier, you also get to see the ice flow. When you are stopped, it is so quiet and peaceful. We were lucky enough to catch several calving events, and I even managed to get one on camera. Amazing! Once back on the ship, I headed to the Observation deck for some more Hubbard watching. I did manage to get one good sized calving at the very end of the camera’s range, so the footage isn’t great, but you can see what is going on. Dinner was at the Thomas Keller Grill restaurant. After that, I turned in fairly early, since tomorrow’s another zodiac excursion in the morning, and then we head to port for the second half of the day.
