YouTube Video Description

Hello Travelers, In August of 2023, I did my first full transit of the Panama Canal with Princess cruises. It was a 19 day cruise, the longest I had been on to date. This is day 10 of the cruise, and I booked the Aerial Tram, Butterfly Garden, Sloth Sanctuary shore excursion through the ship. We met the busses right as we got off the ship. They backed all the busses up one by one and parked them next the to ship—which I have not seen done before. It was a long dock, and I wouldn’t have wanted to be the one who had to back up a bus that far. The tour was about an hour and a half in the bus each way, and our first stop was the animal sanctuary. We got to go see several different types of monkeys, both adult and baby sloths, lots of birds, turtles and other animals. It was fun to see them in a more natural setting, and in Costa Rica, you are not allowed to take pictures with people and animals together. It was because of the tourist trade in selfie pictures, which led to some of the animals being abused, and so the government outlawed the practice and sent all the confiscated animals to the local sanctuaries. The baby sloths were SO CUTE! It was impossible not to be charmed by them. Please like this video and subscribe to my channel to make sure you don’t miss future content. I have more videos for this cruise, as well as future cruises booked through the rest of this year and beyond. Thanks for watching!
