Grand Princess Embarkation Day | My First Princess Cruise | West Coast | Solo Travel

Hello Travelers, I am traveling solo on my first Princess cruise. This series is out of order from the cruises I took. I only found a place in my editorial calendar here for the video series. It took place October 14 - 18, 2021. It was a four day cruise visiting Ensenada and San Diego. I bought the airport transfer from Los Angeles airport to the ship. It could not have been an easier experience. There was a lady with a big Princess sign who met me at baggage claim and once I had obtained my checked bag, walked me (and others ) to the bus directly. We picked up more passengers in several stops around the airport, and then we were off to the port. Once at the port, we got off the bus, and the Porters were right there immediately to take our bags. We walked a short distance to the security screening building, where they first checked our travel documents (passports, proof of vaccination and a negative covid test), and then we went through the security checkpoint. Once through that, we were directed to another queue to meet another person who would check those same documents. He also took a new picture, and verified I had my medallion already. Then it was off to board the ship. The crew had these huge hearts they were waving and tapping on to make noise in welcome. It was very fun. I had checked my watch when the bus pulled in at the port, and it was almost exactly half an hour later that I was already in an elevator heading to my cabin (which was ready). This was easily the fastest I have ever gone from getting to a port to getting on the ship. Kudos to Princess for having a very good process! I had dinner in the Crown Grill, enjoying surf and turf, a chocolate trifle for dessert and a chocolate martini, which I had never had and must remember to order again.
