Hello Travelers, I boarded the Holland America Cruiseline’s Koningsdam on September 10, 2022. This video shows the embarkation process as well as the first day of the cruise. I booked an airport transfer through Holland America, and since my pre-cruise hotel was in the airport, it was just a matter of checking out of my hotel and heading down to the arrivals floor. There was a rep walking around with a sign for both Princess and HAL, so I followed him to the busses. They had separate lines and busses and it was a simple matter of getting on the bus going to the Koningsdam in Canada Place. We got off the bus, and the checkin process was overly complicated. There were several stops that seemed to duplicate themselves but I eventually made it through all of them and onto the ship. I headed up to the pizza place and got some lunch. Then I went and dropped my bags off at my cabin. Dinner was in the main dining room, and then I spent some time enjoying the blues club on board. It was a great start to the cruise!
