Pre-Cruise Hotel Room Tour | Crowne Plaza Hotel & Resorts Fort Lauderdale Airport | Solo Travel

Hello Travelers, On November 9, 2021, I flew into Fort Lauderdale a day ahead of my cruise on Enchanted Princess. I stayed at the Crowne Plaza near the airport, and it is a good option for an overnight if you don’t want to pay the rates of being near the beach. I had a King Room for this visit, and I basically just slept there and didn’t even bother with getting a meal. The room was a nice size, with the usual amenities. If I had known there would be a Keurig in the room, I would have brought some coffee pods, but I will know for next time. The refrigerator was not cold, but I was also not planning to use it, so I didn’t care. I am sure if I needed it, they would have been able to do something. When I went to check in, the desk manager actually asked me how I was getting to the cruise port. He recommended not taking the local taxis because there has been some problems with people being charged higher prices than agreed upon. In truth, I experienced that myself on the way to the hotel. I told the taxi driver where I was going, he quoted a price. When I got to the hotel, I needed to pay by credit card, and he got mad at me, saying I should have told him that. Not sure how I was supposed to know that ahead of time. But then he charged me more than what he had quoted. So the desk manager’s recommendation of using a ride share service (I use Lyft) was welcome. The Lyft driver who picked me up to take me to the ship was great. His app, however, was a little wonky. We were at the point inside the port property where we could see the ship, and it was directing him to make U-turns and go back the way we came. He (wisely) ignored the app and we found the ship just fine. Please like this video and subscribe to my channel to make sure you don’t miss future content.
